The Clan Donald Foundation, Inc. has become one
of the proud sponsors of the “Possum Holler Fiddlers!”
The Possum Holler Fiddlers is made up of youngsters from the Ozark Mountains of Missouri and Arkansas who are helping keep alive not only the fiddling music of the Ozarks, but also the tradition of Scottish roots music in America as well. The people of the Ozarks are descendants of the Scots and Scots-Irish who first settled in Appalachia, some of whom later moved to the Ozark Mountain area. The “Fiddlers” will be in Edinburgh this summer at the “Fringe Festival,” performing a repertoire of Scottish, Appalachian and Ozark Mountain Music. The group is part of a movement to keep traditional music and Ozark culture alive and vibrant. Spearheading that movement is Clan Donald USA member Bob McGill. The Possum Holler Fiddlers are pictured above and may be found on Facebook.
